• The Midwest Rigging Intensive, hosted by ESTA, is scheduled for August 25 – 27 in Chicago. The weekend-long event will feature a curriculum developed by a group of dedicated instructors, all of whom are ETCP Recognized Trainers. With a focus on practical learning for entertainment riggers, the Midwest Rigging Intensive will be an information-packed opportunity to train with some of the top minds in the industry and provide enough hours to fulfill a technician’s ETCP Education Renewal Credits requirement. • Please use the ETCP Portal to submit your renewal application, log your training after you complete continuing education courses, and notify ETCP of any updates (change of address, new email, new photo for ETCP ID, revise your ETCP profile on the website, etc.)


Read about your industry’s charity Behind the Scenes and available resources:
  • Dates are now available for Behind the Scenes Mental Health First Aid Training classes in August and September. This training can be extremely valuable for anyone who manages others or is responsible for their safety, as well as anyone who interfaces with customers/members/public. Previous attendees say they use the skills learned every day in their interactions with others. Upon completing the course, you will become a certified Mental Health First Aider which is valid for three years.

  • Learn about Resources for Alcohol and Substance Misuse from Behind the Scenes

• The ETCP Council “grace period” for late ETCP renewal applications ended March 31, 2022. If your certification has expired and you still want to renew, file an appeal. Listings for expired certificants will begin to be removed from the ETCP Technician website in the near future.

• Submit your education credits when earned through the ETCP Portal

• Thank you to all ETCP certificate holders who attended the 2022 New World Rigging Symposium. If you plan to use your attendance for continuing education credit, please submit only one Education Credit Form for the entire Symposium. You may specify which sessions you attended in the “comments” section. We have attendance records from the event to verify your participation.

• Are you thinking about retiring your ETCP certification? Here is all the information you need to know when considering retiring your ETCP certification

• Have you moved? Changed jobs? Please update ETCP on any revisions to your contact information. Make sure we have two different email addresses for you on file—if your work email bounces back, we will have your second email to send out news and updates—important emails such as a reminder when your renewal is coming due! You don’t want to miss ETCP news that might be critical to maintaining your certification(s).

• Make sure that ETCP@esta.org is in your address book or is whitelisted to insure information from ETCP lands in your inbox (and not in your spam).
