Grace Period for Recertification Extended

If you hold an ETCP Certificate that has expired since the pandemic, the ETCP Council has extended a grace period for your application to the end of the year.

However, it would be greatly appreciated if you could submit your recertification application soon. Please read carefully and follow the instructions below to renew your certification.

To recertify, during your five years, you need to have accumulated 40 points. Most of these points will come from professional experience, but 10 points must be from continuing education—attending courses, training technicians, or writing standards.

Here are the steps you need to recertify:

1. Log in and record your work credits. Use recertification form: https://etcp.wufoo.com/forms/etcp-certification-renewal. If you become stuck filling out the online form and are unable to complete it (because the form didn’t work or something was confusing) please email etcp@esta.org or call 212 244-1505 x705 (during regular ET business hours).

2. Renewal Credit Form: https://etcp.wufoo.com/forms/etcp-certified-tech-ed-credit-submission-form/. This form is where you log your continuing education required for recertification renewal. (If your ETCP Recognized trainer uploaded the class attendance information [new since early 2020], you will not need to do this step for that course.)

3. Receive your invoice. When your relevant work history is confirmed and your continuing education verified, you will receive your invoice. There is a $250 fee per recertification for members of: ESTA, AMPTP, CITT/ICTS, IATSE, IAVM, InfoComm International, The Broadway League, TEA, and USITT. The nonmember fee is $300 fee per recertification.

4. Pay your invoice upon receipt. If you have not submitted your recertification application because you are unable to pay now due to the pandemic, but want to continue your certification, please note on your form you are requesting to defer your payment.

As an ETCP certified technician, you are in the top third of your industry. Take the time to complete your forms and renew your certification today—you are worth it! Thank you for prioritizing a safe work environment.
